Ann Ehringhaus - Bio
I have been exhibiting
my artwork in the Southeast for over thirty years in galleries,
universities, and museums. My work is in a number of permanent
collections. For ten years I worked as a traveling Artist in the
Schools throughout North Carolina. In 1988 John F. Blair published
my book about Ocracoke Island, entitled
Ocracoke Portrait. It is a
personal look at the unique community of Ocracoke Island, where I have
lived for decades on North Carolina's Outer Banks.
My photography has also
been used in many magazines, books and coastal music CD's. I love
making my own art photography, as well as shooting for weddings,
portraits, reunions, magazines, newspapers, and other special projects.
I am currently working with two other artists on a meditation book using
photography and journaling. |

"The Civil War has Matthew Brady; rock and roll has Annie
Liebovitz, and Ocracoke has Ann Ehringhaus....Her photographs of
Ocracoke resonate with a heartfelt sense of place, and a brilliant
comprehension of the beauty and significance of ordinary events....Ms.
Ehringhaus' excellent photographs transcend the category of social
document to the level of truly fine art."
